The BMW R12 is a classic bike with a low seat height of 755mm. This seat height is achieved by the standard low suspension travel of 90mm, both front and rear.

As a result, the tuning of the fork is not successful. The combination of spring, preload and air chamber offers great potential for improvement.
nThe fork runs on block very quickly due to too much negative travel and too small an air chamber. This means that only very little suspension travel can be used comfortably.

The Wilbers fork spring conversion with suitable preload and larger air chamber makes optimum use of the fork’s short stroke.

In conjunction with the longer shock absorber and an improved combination of spring and preload, the Wilbers conversion achieves significantly improved response behavior and considerably more comfort while maintaining the same seat height!
